EPOXYSYSTEM’ PRODUCT #905

ELASTOMERIC CAULKING SYSTEM

Epoxy.com Product #905 is a single component, moisture-cured, Thiokol based caulking compound which eliminates the need for jobsite mixing of multi-component sealants. It effectively seals all joints subject to structural movement as well as non-moving joints against infiltration of water and dirt.

Please note:  Raw materials for this product are currently unavailable. Use Product #900 or Product #901 instead.

Composition: Polysulfide based joint sealant.

Basic Uses: Epoxy.com Product #905 may be used for sealing curtain-wall panels, tilt-up panels, window glazing, flashing and metal setting. At 77° F and 50% R.H., it will cure to a depth of 1/4 in. within 10 days. Cures tack-free overnight. Suitable for sealing joints in swimming pools and other high humidity locations. Epoxy.com Product #905 maintains a low modulus of extension even after prolonged exposure to the elements. This prevents adhesive and cohesive failures which often occur when a caulking compound hardens excessively with aging.

Limitations: In unopened containers, Epoxy.com Product #905 has a shelf life of at least one year. Priming of joints is ordinarily not necessary, but primers are available for certain applications.

Color: White, grey, tan, and black. Special colors can be custom mixed.

Sizes: Available in 5 gallon pails and 11 oz. cartridges. Weighs 11 lbs. per gallon.

Standards: Federal Specification TT-S-230 ANSI Specification A116-1967 and A.S.T.M. C-920.

INSTALLATION
Joint Design: Suitable for all properly designed joints following accepted engineering practices. Joint width must be a minimum of 4 times the anticipated movement.

Surface Preparation: All surfaces to be bonded by Epoxy.com Product #905 must be clean, dry and dust-free. Paint, rust, corrosion, or other surface coatings must be removed. Excessive alkaline seepage from concrete or brick and surface laitance must be removed by etching with 5% muriatic acid, followed by neutralization with dilute ammonium hydroxide. Common household ammonia can be used diluted with 10 parts of water. Finally, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry before applying sealant.

Application: Use only non-bituminous packing materials, such as polyethylene foam or polyurethane foam. Apply sealant by caulking gun or putty knife.

PRODUCT WARRANTY
