EpoxySystems’™ Product #420

DESCRIPTION

EpoxySystems’ Product #420 is a one component, ACETONE FREE, MDI cross-linked, hydrophilic sealing and grouting polymer. The liquid resin reacts rapidly in the presence of water or moisture. EpoxySystems’ Product #420 reacts with water and expands to form an impermeable HYDROPHOBIC barrier. When reacted and hardened, EpoxySystems’ Product #420 is insoluble to water and other aggressive chemicals.

ADVANTAGES

Contrary to all construction material where surfaces must be dry, EpoxySystems’ Product #420 is applied to a moist or wet environment, or pumped into water with a piston pump. Water is part of the chemical reaction of EpoxySystems’ Product #420. EpoxySystems’ Product #420 produces an excellent bond to any and all construction materials by chemical linking. It is resistant to many chemicals present, and it produces a flexible seal.

HOW TO USE

EpoxySystems’ Product #420 is used in many ways to stop water leakage.

A. EpoxySystems’ Product #420 is used to pressure inject in cracks or hairline cracks, the same way as low viscosity epoxy resins are used. Cracks should be wet, not dry. In case cracks are dry, moisten with water.

B. In expansion joints that are sealed with polysulphide, polyurethane silicone, or any other elastic sealant, the EpoxySystems’ Product #420 is injected with a syringe or any other injection equipment behind the sealant to produce a waterproof elastic joint.

C. In concrete or steel liners, such as in tunnels or foundations, holes are drilled, one way valves installed, and EpoxySystems’ Product #420 is pumped in. Once in contact with water, a chemical reaction takes place, and it sets within 3 to 5 minutes.

D. In sewer line joints or any large size joints, to produce the best economy cost per linear foot, any absorptive material such as rope, jute, oakum, is saturated with EpoxySystems’ Product #420. Excess material is removed by holding the saturated jute between the index finger and the thumb, removing the excess. Compact saturated material with putty knife, wood stick, or any suitable method. Pour water on top of it and place next layer until joint is 1/4" +/- below joint surface.

E. In areas of water seepage, such as cinder blocks or porous masonry surfaces, use EpoxySystems 420 Cement Base Grout and pouring sufficient EpoxySystems’ Product #420 liquid Sealing and Grouting Compound in the EpoxySystems’ 420 Cement Base Grout mix. Mix material as conventional mortar and apply by trowel to wet wall. Grout coming in contact with water will set fast, grout in contact with trowel will set slower, permitting ample time for finishing.

F. In porous areas, such as cinder blocks or masonry, where finish is of no concern, EpoxySystems’ Product #420 can be sprayed on from a bottle type spray, Hudson Pump, or any other spray method to stop seepage.

G. To place nipples in holes, to get a fast set and good bond, use EpoxySystems’ Cement Base Mortar mixed with a few ounces of water, then add EpoxySystems’ Product #420 liquid Sealing and Grouting Compound to produce a fast set
