Zinc Rich Primer - Single Component
DESCRIPTION
Epoxy.com Product #1201 Zinc Rich Primer is a single component,
premixed liquid organic zinc rich coating which
provides sacrificial protection against steel
corrosion. Epoxy.com Product #1201 promotes adhesion, dries
rapidly, and can be either shop or field applied.
Epoxy.com Product #1201 exceeds the Steel Structures Painting
Council Paint Specification 20, Type II Organic
Zinc Rich Primer.

- Frequently used as exposed rebar coating prior to concrete repairs.

PACKAGING
1 gallon containers.
COVERAGE
Applied to a smooth surface at a rate of 300 to
350 square feet per gallon, film thickness will
be approximately 5.0 mils wet and 2.5 mils dry.
Theoretical coverage -450 square feet per gallon
at 1.5 mil dry film thickness.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Typical examples are as follows:
Grease and Oils - Solvent clean to SSPC-SP1.
Rust scale or easy to remove paint – Power tool
clean to SSPC-SP3. Mil scale or firmly adhered
paint - Sandblast to SSPC-SP6 (commercial).
All work blasted shall be coated the same day with
Epoxy.com Product #1201 Zinc Rich Primer.
MIXING
Stir the Epoxy.com Product #1201 thoroughly before using
and intermittently during application so that it is
completely homogeneous during application.
APPLICATION
Epoxy.com Product #1201 can be applied by brush, roller, or spray. If
thinning is required, consult Epoxy.com Technical Support Department..
Do not exceed 5% thinner and use Epoxy.com Product #1201
Thinner only. Allow to dry 12 hours minimum
before applying top coat.
TOPCOATING
After 24-48 hrs., topcoat with acrylic, epoxy, urethane or vinyl type products.
DO NOT USE high solvent low solids coatings, or lacquer type products
LIMITATIONS
Not recommended for use below 50°F.
SHELF LIFE 2 years
CAUTION
COMBUSTIBLE LIQUID! Contains organic solvents, resins and zinc. Avoid breathing vapors. Avoid skin contact. Consult MSDS for further safety information. FIRST AID: If contact is made with skin, wash with soap and water. If contact is made with eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician. Do not take internally.

#315, Product #315BC, and Product #316 one (1) year; Polyesters,
Methyl Methacrylates (normal) two (2) months and Polyurethanes Four (4) months;
Power Tools and Equipment 90 days; Vinyl Esters, and all other
resins (not specifically mentioned above) 30 days; hand tools
(non-power tools) 30 days. Epoxy.com warrants that its
products will be free of manufacturing defects and will be in
conformity with published specifications when handled, stored, mixed
and applied in accordance with recommendations of Epoxy.com. If any
product fails to meet this warranty, the liability of Epoxy.com will
be limited to replacement of any non-conforming material if notice
of such non-conformity is given to Epoxy.com within the warranty
period for the material (as indicated above), or within 1 year of
the delivery of materials (whichever is sooner). Epoxy.com may in
its discretion refund the price received by Epoxy.com in lieu of
replacing the material. No customer, distributor, or representative
of Epoxy.com is authorized to change or modify the published
specifications of this warranty in any way. No one is authorized to
make oral warranties on behalf of Epoxy.com. In order to obtain
replacement or refund the customer must provide written notice
containing full details of the non-conformity. Epoxy.com reserves
the right to inspect the non-conforming material prior to
replacement. EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESSED WARRANTY STATED ABOVE, THERE
ARE NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT
